Sign up to receive updates about the integration of Alive & Well Communities (AWC) and the Cultural Competency Collective (CCC) and the relaunch of our monthly Learning Community workshops!

In 2020, CCC approached AWC about structurally aligning our two organizations because of our complementary missions and service delivery models. Our organizational missions include engagement of volunteers in efforts to transform culture and ultimately improve community outcomes. The opportunity to build both racial equity and address trauma within the same region attracted the interest of leaders from both groups and led to a year of deliberations regarding a shared future.

AWC has since recruited additional CCC members to join the Kansas City Steering Committee and has created two subcommittees: the Community Activation Team, who will oversee the Learning Community workshops and community engagement; and the Institutional Activation Team, who will support training and technical assistance for healthcare, educational, and nonprofit providers.
